"If you are planning a renovation, we would highly recommend that you hire Paulson’s and not think twice." [More]- Bob & Michelle H., Fowlerville, MI "God Bless the great contractors of the world, they are extremely hard to come by! Paulson’s Construction is one of the very few that could be considered great!
We hired Paulson’s Construction to remodel our bathroom and ended up with an amazing masterpiece that makes you feel as if you are in a 5 star penthouse luxury bath in some fancy hotel in New York that none of us could actually afford ever going to.
It started out like this. I met Paul McClory at a car show that he runs every fall and makes sure all of the proceeds are donated to an awesome charity, The Salvation Army. He is a community focused businessman.
I did almost no research on his company, just going on what a few people had said, everything that we heard was that we could expect exceptional work and that is exactly what we received.
He came out to our home, assessed what we had, what we were unhappy with as well as addressing the issues that caused the original installation to fail.
Next, we scheduled an appointment with Maureen at his office, now; Maureen will be a hard act for anyone to follow at any remodeling company anywhere.
Maureen took us step by step through the process of showing us samples of cabinets, plumbing fixtures, and shower doors, everything that would be needed to trim the bathroom out. She was attentive, experienced and extremely thorough in the process of assisting us pick everything out.
Once everything was ordered, we waited until the entire tile; plumbing fixtures and vanity cabinets arrived.
We were scheduled for a Friday tear out, everything required to get things rolling was delivered to our home and the project was started.
Throughout the entire project, Dave Watson constantly updated us as to what was going to happen, who was going to arrive, what time they would arrive and everything happened exactly according to that schedule, without any delays or excuses.
This renovation went exactly as we had planned, was within our planned budget and the results are phenomenal.
If you are planning a renovation, we would highly recommend that you hire Paulson’s and not think twice. Great contractors are hard to come by, they are not cheap, but if you want cheap, you can’t have great. We picked GREAT and got what we paid for, an awesome renovation!
When I get a minute, I will post some pictures of the tile and shower. Porch or deck. Patio or pergola. Let us help you with creating a wonderful outdoor space for your home. From treated lumber to composites and all types of rail systems, call us to get the products you want and the quality installation you deserve. We are also a TREX PRO contractor.

2012 Contractor of the Year Award Winner! Residential Exterior Specialty-Region 4
Throughout the years, this 19th century smokehouse had fallen into disrepair. Our homeowner’s primary objective for this project was making the smokehouse functional once again. The homeowners also wanted to create an outdoor living area for entertaining throughout the year.
These goals were accomplished by making repairs to the smokehouse masonry work, replacing asphalt shingles with cedar shakes, and then constructing a new stone fireplace to aid in the function of the smokehouse. A special damper was fabricated for the fireplace to vent heat directly into the smokehouse when in use. We provided living and entertaining space by building a covered patio addition adjacent to the smokehouse with many special features:
• Natural stone from the homeowner’s property was used for the outdoor fireplace to match the color and texture of the smokehouse stone.
• Fireplace was constructed with a built in bread oven for outdoor cooking.
• Built in concrete benches were fabricated with storage areas underneath for dry wood.
• Exposed aggregate concrete was used for a safe, nonslip and interesting patio surface that created a look that is more period appropriate.
• Outdoor copper sconces were added for general lighting.
• Cedar shakes were used to shingle both the smokehouse and the covered patio for continuity and authenticity.
• Flat screen TV for guests to watch the “big game” outdoors
• Ceiling fan
• Electrical outlets (for lap top use, etc.)
• Recessed bonfire pit
Making the smokehouse functional again was a challenge, but by creating the custom fireplace, both of the homeowner’s objectives were met. The homeowners can enjoy outdoor cooking from ‘smores and homemade bread to ribs and smoked fish. With features like the fireplace and bonfire for cooler months and the ceiling fan for warm months, family and friends can enjoy the outdoors year round. The smokehouse has become more than just a focal point of the back yard; it has been transformed into a beautiful, multiuse outdoor dwelling to be used and enjoyed throughout the whole year.
