Details

We're very proud of all of our work yet it's the details that stand out when we're done and gone. Special features and designs and outstanding craftsmanship make all of our details work. Looking for something unique and interesting? Something nobody else has? Call us. We can help.

Lake Shannon - Fenton, MI

This home was built with a "cubby" that the new owners didn't really care for. We came up with the idea of bookshelves and that led to keeping the "cubby" for storage but hidden by a movable shelving unit. Our client chose to do the finishing of the paint and it turned out really nice.

North Shore Sub - Howell, MI

The old wood columns that were built on site by the builder had rotted and had to be replaced. We used pre-painted aluminum columns to replicate the look of the old ones but these will last a whole lot longer.

Whitmore Lake - Whitmore Lake, MI

This business had some work done to replace rotting trim. Well, as you can see, it didn't last very long. Believe it or not, it DOES make a difference what kind of wood is used. Finishing and caulking is also very important. Our work should last a good long time with minor maintenance.

One of the details we added to the showroom this summer is this great archway between rooms. This is an easy and inexpensive option that we can add to any project. It really makes a nice transition.

Custom Glass Rail System

The existing rail system here was found to not meet code even though the house is less than 10 years old. The wood was put up as a safety measure for our clients grand daughter. They didn't particularly care for the rails anyway so we designed a new system for them. Their home and design tastes are contemporary and that set the parameters. The glass and natural maple fit seamlessly with the rest of the glass and maple in the home and the final product not only fits right in but looks great!

Custom Trimwork

This 2-story foyer and great room really came to life with the addition of this custom oak trim work. Note the curved wall along the stairway and the curved mouldings that go along with it.

Tin Ceiling

Actual tin ceiling made from the historic molds helped create quite a unique detail in this kitchen. These details show the crowns, the inside and outside corners, as well as the filler pieces. The installation was done in the traditional manner, and upon completion the entire ceiling was painted white.

Suspended Glass Block

Suspended and back-lit glass block. To finish off the end of the wall cabinetry, the homeowners wanted to do something different. The back-lit glass block was the perfect answer. It looks clean and contemporary to match the kitchen during the daytime, and in the evening offers a wonderful accent to both rooms it is viewed from. A custom bracket was fabricated and some modifications to the glass were made to achieve the results shown.
